3rd World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships
Ankara, Turkey – 16th -18th December 2008
Master T.W. Shin and Chan Sau will represent the UTA when they fly out this Friday with the rest of the BTCB Great Britain Poomsae Team to participate at the 3rd WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Ankara, Turkey. The team will spend a few days preparing for the event which is expected to be the largest to date with more than 60 countries and 500 athletes expected to attend. The event will be held over three rings in the ASKI Sport Hall, which is the biggest and most modern indoor stadium in Ankara and is the first World Poomsae Championships to be held outside of South Korea.
The three-day event will run from the 16th – 18th December with Master T.W Shin competing on Day 2 with aims of making the final once again and hopefully securing Team GB’s first World Poomsae Championships medal.
Commonwealth Gold Medallist Chan Sau from Halton UTA will also compete on Day 2 in the 1st Senior Male category and aims to improve on his 18th Place World Ranking at last years event. He will also be competing in the 1st Pairs category with Melissa McSorley on Day 2.
